how to use tontip

This article will introduce how to use Telegram’s wallet, how to buy Ton, how to exchange USDT, and how to use Tontip for rewarding. Ton is a blockchain developed by the Telegram team and is also the native token on the Ton blockchain. This article assumes that you have used the Telegram software and have installed the latest version of the Telegram client on your phone. In terms of blockchain, I hope you have held some digital currencies and have installed exchange applications such as Binance or OKX on your phone.

Open Telegram Wallet

The Ton blockchain has been around for a long time, and there are many wallet applications, such as Tonkeeper, but in 2023, Telegram officially made a built-in wallet, which is very convenient for users and can manage digital currencies without installing additional software. For convenience, I will not introduce the use of third-party wallet software here, but only briefly introduce how to use Telegram Wallet. If you want to know more, you can go to the official document https://wallet.tg/

First, open the Telegram app on your phone, search for the account to find @wallet and click to enter, fill in some personal information as required, and finally you will get a usable wallet. The screenshot is as follows. My wallet has some change I recharged myself. The newly created wallet has all asset balances of 0

Recharge digital currency

In the screenshot above, we can see that the wallet interface will display the balance of Ton and USDT. In order to make our wallet available, I will demonstrate how to obtain Ton and USDT and save them in the wallet. The ton wallet has built-in market and exchange, but it cannot be used due to reasons in my area, so I will introduce how to use OKX to recharge Ton and USDT here

First, you need to open the OKX application (if you only have Binance or other apps, it is similar), find the fund account, and make sure there is Ton or USDT in it. If not, you need to buy some USDT, which can be bought from merchants through the C2C trading market. After you have USDT, you can buy some Ton in the trading market. If you are using it for the first time, you can buy a small amount, such as buying 100 USDT and then buying 10 Ton, which is enough for us to experience the transaction process of TonTip.

After the above steps, you should have some Ton and USDT in your OKX account. Next, you need to withdraw these assets to the wallet address on the Ton blockchain.

Withdraw to Telegram wallet

Go back to Telegram wallet, click Add Crypto -> External Wallet -> Toncoin Then click the Continue button below, you will enter a wallet address page, which shows a QR code and the string below is the wallet address. Click to copy the address.

Go back to OKX, in the asset, select Withdraw -> Withdraw digital currency -> Ton -> Withdraw on chain, enter a withdrawal form, fill in the wallet address copied to, the amount to be withdrawn, and that’s it, the screenshot is as follows:

okx withdraw to telegram
USDT withdrawal is similar, but if you withdraw USDT, you can only withdraw it on the ton network. If your USDT is obtained from another blockchain, you need to transfer it to the Ton chain before you can withdraw it

Ton’s transaction confirmation speed is very fast. After 1 or 2 minutes, open the Telegram wallet again, and the amount of assets just transferred should be displayed.

Use TonTip to reward

Our previous steps are to make the telegram wallet have enough Ton to pay for the gas of blockchain transactions, and some USDT to reward favorite authors. TonTip is integrated at the bottom of our official blog, so you can test the reward process here. Use your favorite browser to open the first blog: https://tontip.xyz/tontip-intro-cn I used the Edge browser on an Android phone, and the screenshot is as follows:

tontip on first blog

The main interface of the reward box shows 5 reward amounts, the lowest is $0.1 and the highest is $5. There are 2 buttons in the lower left corner. After clicking, you will jump to the address details page of tonviewer and tontip to see how many people have rewarded the current payment address. The lower right corner shows the currently connected wallet address. If it is not connected, an unconnected button will appear.

Because the wallet has been connected in the screenshot above, I clicked the button in the lower right corner, selected Disconnect, and demonstrated the connection process again.

Click the button in the lower right corner, and the following pop-up window will appear:

tontip connect wallet

In this wallet selection interface, select the first telegram wallet, which will call up the telegram app and then enter the following page:

tontip connect telegram

Here you will apply for connection, click the connection button at the bottom to confirm, and finally return to the previous webpage. The connected wallet address will be displayed in the lower right corner.

Click the first button to reward the author with 0.1 US dollars. The following pop-up window appears, waiting for the telegram wallet to accept the request

tontip send 1

The wallet immediately received the request, parsed the content of the request, and entered the following confirmation interface:

tontip send 2

Here it shows that 2 transfer transactions were sent from the TonTip service. The first one is to transfer 0.1 USDT to the AkaH address, which is also the payment address we configured. The second 0.1 USDT is transferred to the K3UD address, which is the service fee payment account of the TonTip platform.

TonTip will charge a small service fee for each reward to ensure the normal operation of the platform. The current strategy is that no matter how much the user rewards, the platform only charges 0.1 USDT service fee each time. If you think this price is unreasonable, you can send an email to the official website and we can adjust it in the future.

Confirm that the transaction information is correct, then click the confirmation button, and the wallet will send the transaction to the blockchain. The processing speed of the Ton blockchain is very fast. If everything goes well, we will see the following interface of successful transaction sending.

tontip send 3

Click back, or switch back to the browser interface directly, and you will see a successful prompt message as follows

tontip send 4

Rewarding is a voluntary act. We have seen useful content on the Internet and hope that the author can continue to work hard to create better content, so we give a little money to encourage it within our ability. We don’t care about the return. If you want to issue a certificate or some other rights to the rewarder, you can send us an email and we will seriously consider the user’s feedback. The entire reward process ends here.

View the rewards received

In the above operation, we have completed the reward, and the author received a tip of 0.1 USDT. If we want to see how many people have rewarded the author, we can click the two buttons above.

tonviewer tip history

Here you can see the 0.1 USDT reward from Ee-Eg 22 minutes ago, which also shows a line of notes, indicating that the reward was made through the URL https://tontip.xyz/tontip-intro-cn. Click Value flow to see the gas consumed by this transaction. Here I show 0.0058 Ton. At the current exchange rate of 1Ton to 6USDT, this gas is about 0.034 USDT, which is still relatively low and affordable for most people.

Summary

In this article, we first talked about how to open and use the built-in wallet of Telegram, then demonstrated how to recharge Ton and USDT into the Telegram wallet through OKX, and then demonstrated step by step how to reward on a webpage integrated with TonTip, and finally demonstrated how to jump to the corresponding page through the two buttons in the lower left corner to view the author’s recent reward history.

Is the use of TonTip very simple? I believe that with the gradual improvement of the ecosystem of Telegram and Ton blockchain, small rewards through Ton blockchain will become more and more popular, bypassing the platform as a middleman, so that the creative income can be directly given to the creator, so that the author can create content as he pleases, instead of creating what the platform is popular with.
